Imagine a future where no-one is alone in the dark. A future where people living with blindness or vision impairment can live the life they choose. In uncertain times, it is important to continually plan for the future and create a financially sustainable organisation. The Guide Dog Foundation is primarily motivated to ensure that VisAbility and Guide Dogs WA are here “forever” and that people who are blind or vision impaired continue to receive the valuable services they want.
There are few things that can transform someone’s life as profoundly as a Guide Dog. A Guide Dog truly changes the life of a person who is blind or vision impaired, providing them with the safety, mobility and independence to lead a more fulfilling life, as well as companionship and inclusion into society.
Frank's support for VisAbility and Guide Dogs WA began in the 1980’s, and over three decades his generosity progressed from giving regularly to our direct mail appeals to becoming a major donor for some of our significant campaigns. Frank was an “everyday man” who gave discreetly, and on the rare occasions he stopped in to make his donation in person, he would leave before we had a chance to thank him for his generosity.
VisAbility has provided innovative, life-changing services to West Australians for more than 100 years. It is the leading provider of disability services specialising in supporting people who are blind and vision impaired. The Guide Dog Foundation exists to support VisAbility’s vision for the future. A future where no-one is alone in the dark.
