As a major philanthropic leader of the community, we understand that you, or your Foundation, want to contribute to a future where people who are blind or vision impaired have greater opportunities. A significantly planned financial contribution for permanent legacy is the best way to maximise your positive impact on those in the community who are less fortunate.
A “Guide Dog for Life” investment of $1 million will guarantee that a new Guide Dog puppy joins our training program every year and this will continue long into the future.
It’s important for us to grow our program and very important for people who are blind or vision impaired. It’s also important for your positive impact to last forever.
Be part of this rare opportunity to change lives… forever.
There are few things that can transform someone’s life as profoundly as a Guide Dog. A Guide Dog truly changes the life of a person who is blind or vision impaired, providing them with the safety, mobility and independence to lead a more fulfilling life, as well as companionship and inclusion into society.
In 2011, 26-year-old Kate Atkins noticed a change in her vision after returning from a holiday in Bali, Indonesia. Over the course of the next year, her vision deteriorated dramatically. Kate, who works in Perth’s CBD, was determined to continue living an active and independent lifestyle with her new vision impairment.
“It was very hard for me because no one, especially me, could understand how I could lose my vision over a period of just 18 months,” said Kate.
In March 2013, Kate received Guide Dog Lucy, giving her a new level of confidence and independence.
“Lucy has given me back the confidence to walk around without being scared that I could walk into someone at any moment. I still love going shopping and out for meals and normal things like getting my hair and nails done. Now, with Lucy, I have the confidence to do it all at my usual 100-mile-an-hour pace!”
Your valuable gift will contribute to a sub-fund that will be managed by The Guide Dog Foundation Board. All capital is professionally and prudently invested, in line with trustee guidelines, with financial management provided by an Investment Committee that reports to the Board of the Foundation.
